You can create new material numbers (FERT) representing each configurable material and it's variants --> create Planning Bills of Materials (copying the components listed in the Super BOM for the KMATs and entering the realistic/historic usage of each component)
--> Assign the strategy and Planning materials' entry in the material master of the KMATs and its variants
--> Load PIR for the planning material
--> Let the MRP run plan for component procurement in reference to the Planning BOM
--> Create Sales orders for the KMATs and/or Material variants as needed, these Sales orders would consume the PIR loaded for the Planning material.
