Can you save data with your report - the one based on my instructions - and post it here? You'll rename your .rpt file to give it a .txt extension and then go to the Advanced editor and upload it. That way I can take a look at it and see whether I can get the highlighting working.
As for the parameter - you can look at doing something called "Cascading Dynamic Prompts" with it, which should get you what you're looking for. But please post that as a new topic.
