- Certain Support Packages can only be applied using the SUM tool. For more information please refer to SAP Note 1803986.

- For SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP 7.40, when specific SP versions are part of the import queue, only SUM can be used
From the above comments you can use only SUM toll not SPAM.
